Sitelinks in Google Searches

Google defines Sitelinks as additional links that are sometimes generated from site contents in order to help users navigate the site. Google generates these sitelinks periodically & randomly from the site’s contents.

You must have seen sitelinks below searches of reputable websites, These are not handpicked by Google but are displayed via their algorithm. The criteria for getting the sitelinks for your website is very simple. Make sure your website / blog links are search friendly. Meaning, they have to be either Text based or even if they are Images, the “alt tag” should be there for Google to pick up the links.

You can find out if your website / blog has been awarded the sitelinks by 2 ways.

1. Search Google by entering “example.com”
2. Create and account with Google Webmaster Tools and add your website from the dashboard.

Having a free account with webmaster tool is a real good idea, you can upload sitemaps, check how many pages are indexed, check for errors, report a problem, request reconsideration and many others. With the links tab, you will be able to check your sitelinks. You will be given the option to block certain links if you don’t want them to be displayed.

PPC Bully Reviewed

Why work hard, when you can work smart! Starting your own PPC campaign can be tough, especially when you have a tight budget and not much knowledge about selecting the best keywords and making an ad. copy which sells. That’s where PPC Bully comes to your rescue, it bullies your competition to cough up secret information about their ad. campaign and lays the data in front of you so that you have an fully optimized pay per click campaign right from the launch.

How does PPC Bully work?

Well… PPC Bully does not bully your competition to get their campaign information out. In fact your competition does not even know if their campaign is being monitored. PPC Bully gathers all the information about your keyword trends by searching for those keywords and then crawling the related adwords ads on the sidebar of google search and then saving in on its database for you to review.

It takes up to 7 days to gather data, the more days you let it work the better the overall results will be. PPC Bully works on a simple principle while calculating the profitability of a keyword and the importance of an ad. copy. The longer an ad. is displayed the more profitable it would be. Simply put, if I know my ad. copy is working wonders for me and is selling the product / service the more it will used adwords and vice versa.

Where does the word BULLY fit in?

Any normal project which you create, PPC Bully will gather data once a day for the set of keywords you have added to the project. However if you press the button called “Bully” the ping will be sent our 24 times a day, thus gathering more data which would result in detailed statistics.

Is PPC Bully worth $49 / Month?

Even if you are spending a couple hundred dollars a month, then I would suggest you use this service. It will make sure that your money results in a better sale. For people who outsource their PPC needs to adwords consultants, can now do this on their own, saving them a lot of time & money which in turn can be put in adwords.

Forum Link Building Tips

If you are a regular at forums then you would know this already but if you are not I would suggest you to join a couple forums of your blog’s niche and start taking part in discussions there.

Most of the forums let you have a couple signature links added everytime you make a comment, not only will this help pass on some link juice to your blog but also help you rank better on your keywords. Forums these days also let you add RSS feed to your profile. If you are an active participant on forums then you will see many referrals coming your way from these links.

Follow some basic ethics while making signature links at forums.

1. Do not link to under construction pages, or blog which have very little content. Wait till you have about 20-30 good articles and then go for the signature links.
2. Do not make a link with 6-7 different keywords as it will do more harm than good.
3. If you add 2 link, they should be of different domian… It would not be good to add 2 links with different titles but same domain. Search engines are much to smart for that.

Top 4 Paid Directories

1. Yahoo.com (PR 8): Yahoo should be on the top of your priority for when it comes to getting paid link. For most of the internal pages, especially for the ones that you submit to, there won’t be any PR at all but there is nothing to worry. You are not getting listed on yahoo for PR but for the rank stability which it will give you both in Google and Yahoo organic search. Don’t expect hits coming directly from the directory.
Price: $299 / year (fee is non-refundable)

2. Business.com (PR 7): I have listed a few of my websites with business.com, the submission process is pretty straight forward and it takes them 3-4 days to approve a link. Make sure you email them with your site name and description before hand to know exactly in what category will your website be listed. This will give you an idea of what the PR is on their page. Do not submit blogs as they would reject it. They only accept websites which have a business theme. Submitting your personal blog would be a waste of both time and money. Don’t expect traffic directly form business.com.
Price: $299 / year (fee is non-refundable)

3. Botw.org (PR 6): Best of the Web directory. This directory has been there 15 years now and has stood the test of time. If you do plan to submit to this directory, Google or “botw coupons” and you may just find a 25% discount on the listing.
Price: $99.95 / year or $249.95 Permanent Listing (fee is non-refundable)

4. STPT.com (PR 5): This is another directory which has been there for a long time. It’s home page now looks more like a search engine than a directory, which is good as Google frowns upon directory looking websites.
Price: $99 / year (fee is non-refundable)

Personally I would not go beyond submitting to the above 4 directories. Google keeps changing its algorithms and constantly keeps discounting links coming from directories so its not worth paying to 50 directories only to be dropped the very next month.
