Yesterday I had posted an article on WP e-commerce plugin and today i am comparing it with Market Theme, which is an ecommerce shopping cart for WordPress. When I went over to Market Theme, they had a demo which looked very much like an ecommerce website and not a blog at all where as WP ecommerce plugin looked more like a blog. This is a personal preference, if your purpose is primarily selling then you would be better off with Market Theme but if blogging is your motive and selling a product is a side business on it then go for the other.

Both companies have listed comparison between the two on their websites but they differ significantly, I would recommend you go through before making your final selection. Market theme is not free. It cost $55 for the standard license.

There is one thing which I liked about Market Theme, the way they let you add a product and checkout immediately without having to fill out forms etc. The 1 click checkout helps increase sales as most of the time you would loose a customer by asking them to fill out forms or create logins.

Market Theme is placing themselves as not just a plugin but an entire ecommerce packaged theme.
